Congratulations to all the teams who participated in the 2012 Global Enterprise Challenge. It was a fantastic effort by all countries and ABW wish to thank the participants, co-ordinators and mentors for all their hard work.  We would also like to thank the international judging panel for their time and effort in judging the submissions.

Our service aims to create more jobs for young people through merger arrangements between two or more self- employed persons or firms. These arrangements allow companies to increase their growth potential as they enjoy economies of scale due to a wider access to resources. Many job opportunities can then be created for the young once these partnerships grow and expand. This service directly employs a few young people in the first few years as part of the Logistics & Communications team. The people working on this team serve to create partnerships, which in return can create more jobs as they grow. This team induces job creation and so, has a great impact on decreasing unemployment. The micro-business therefore provides a huge contribution to the employment market.

This year, the asian hub is hosted by Kyoto, Japan.

The Asia Hub in Kyoto, Japan will give students who are fortunate enough to travel there, the opportunity to meet and communicate face-to-face with participating students from other nations, particularly Asian countries.

The 2012 Global Enterprise Challenge addresses an area of major concern and recognises that in the current global recession, young people are finding employment hard to get and for some, self-employment has become the only alternative, requiring them to make the move from job-seeker to job-creator.

Your challenge is to:
Present a business idea to a panel of entrepreneurs who are keen to invest in a business start-up which might be a micro-business in exchange for an equity stake in the operation. These investors are particularly interested in business ideas that will create jobs for young people.

You have 3 minutes to explain your idea, stating how much funding you require, and what equity you are prepared to give in return.
