The Judges for the local ASEC in Singapore are; Christopher Lane | Intellectual Property Consultant Chris Lane is an intellectual property business consultant. He advises on IP creation, protection and strategy. Currently, he runs his own consultancy firm. He also teaches at Republic Polytechnic as an adjunct. Chris spends time as an IP Mentor at the Singapore Management University, Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Jeffery Tay | Entrepreneur Jeffrey Tay is an entrepreneur with several start ups and companies ranging from franchises to distribution. He was formerly from the Port of Singapore Authority, managing operations and strategy. This makes him very detailed and meticulous in the execution of business plans. Esther Au Yong | Journalist and Entrepreneur Esther Au Yong is journalist and an entrepreneur. She spent her journalistic days with the New Paper in Singapore. She travels frequently and writes various travel and food articles. She also has started a franchise business, a sales company and other side ventures. She has a keen instinct for marketing, public relations and good presentations.

ASEC 2011 Regional Judges

The judges for the regional judging are; Andrew D Giger | Singapore Dr Andrew D Giger is a Neuroscientist with research experience in academia and the private and public sectors. He started out studying how Tunisian desert ants navigate, then tamed honey bees to find out more about their visual system, and moved on to counting cockroaches, feeding termites and attracting mosquitoes. Now, as the Director of Research & Web Outreach at the Science Centre Singapore, he deals with science on a much broader basis and is primarily concerned with how to make science more accessible to students and the general public. Pang Kian Tiong | Singapore As a Manager of the Exhibitions Group at Science Centre Singapore, Dr Pang Kian Tiong have extensive experiences in developing and setting up unique exhibitions that inspire students all over the country. Also serving as a resident scientist at the Centre, Dr Pang have contributed much in communicating physics to the general public. The judges for the Singapore ASEC 2010 are; NS Somashekhar Mr NS Somashekhar is a seasoned Investment Principal and strategist for B2B (business-to-business) and G2G (government-to-government) partnerships & New ventures. He is an information communication industry professional with more then 18 years of diverse leadership experience in promoting entrepreneurship and nurturing companies by providing investments and grants for ICT companies  in Singapore. He managed the Internationalization  & Industry Development Group  at  iDA (Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore) which is under MICA (Ministry of Information, Communication and The Arts).
