The 2011 Global Enterprise Challenge is…
On April 12th 1961, Yuri Gagarin became the first human in space. To commemorate this momentus event in human history, the international space community has launched an international competition for schools. Your challenge today is to conceptualise and design an interactive exhibit for display in science museums around the world, celebrating 50 years of human spaceflight, and looking ahead to the next 50. Estimate what it will cost to develop your exhibit, and produce a business plan to recover the cost of creating and maintaining the exhibit. Good Luck to all Teams!
GEC 2011 Singapore Hub
In 2011, Science Centre Singapore and Young Entrepreneur Centre welcomes participants from around the world to join us in competing in the GEC together. It is also a chance for participants from many countries to interact and build networks. Singapore Hub Information Program Outline 17 June – Arrival of Participating Teams 18 June – Challenge issued 19 June – Submission of Challenge 20 June – Local Event & End of Singapore Hub Events. Accommodation Participants will be staying at City Beach Resort. The Challenge is…. Mobility is an essential activity in our everyday life that we often take for granted. In many countries around the world, there are disabled people and the elderly who are challenged to have mobility in their daily activities. Today, new technologies in robotics, electronics, communications and etc can help the disabled and elderly people to gain back their mobility. Your Challenge today is to develop a commercially viable product or services to help alleviate mobility issues faced by the disabled and/or elderly people in your country

ASEC 2011 Registration
The application for participants to the Asian Science Enterprise Challenge is now open! In 2011, the GEC will be preceded by the Asian Science Enterprise Challenge (ASEC) from 28-29 May 2011, where the challenge will be issued by an MIT professor. The winners of ASEC 2011 will have the opportunity to represent Singapore in the GEC. The winners will also be trained in preparation for the GEC event. Venue: Science Centre Singapore Date: 28 and 29 May 2011 Age group: 16 -19 years old (Enrolled in a locally recognized school e.g Polytechnics, Junior Colleges, IB Course, International Schools, etc…) Download the registration form and send the completed forms back to us via email or snail mail. Applications close on 30 April 2011. Hope to see you there as we will be having the event at Science Centre Singapore, so there is lots of exploration, experimentation and enrichment for the participants. The Global Enterprise Challenge (GEC) is a 24-hour international challenge in which competing student teams from around the world are set a challenge to produce a prototype and a business plan for a commercially viable product or service to meet an objective set by the organizers, Careers Scotland. Venue: Science Centre Singapore Date: 18 and 19 June 2011 Age group: 16 -19 years old Singapore will function as an asian hub for the GEC. We will be opening to participants teams from other asian countries and beyond to join us during the GEC time to compete together. The benefit of participating at the hubs include developing networks among participants from other countries, healthy competitive spirit, experience new culture and representing your country! The judges for the Singapore ASEC 2010 are; NS Somashekhar Mr NS Somashekhar is a seasoned Investment Principal and strategist for B2B (business-to-business) and G2G (government-to-government) partnerships & New ventures. He is an information communication industry professional with more then 18 years of diverse leadership experience in promoting entrepreneurship and nurturing companies by providing investments and grants for ICT companies in Singapore. He managed the Internationalization & Industry Development Group at iDA (Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore) which is under MICA (Ministry of Information, Communication and The Arts). Government of Singapore. Currently, managing Group Corporate Marketing at Singapore Technologies Electronics. Mr Soma is an exceptionally skilled communicator, adept at establishing and maintaining networks with top-level executives and providing key advice to industry leaders. He has a record of successes in broadband and digital media, e-governance, and public & private business partnerships & advice budding entrepreneurs at INSEAD Singapore.
